Strengths are that the Prius is one of the top fuel efficient cars, has a relatively low price and is roomy inside. Weakness are so so acceleration, flat lined steering and nonlinear brakes. Look for the plug-in Prius for 2011.

Honda Civic Hybrid-

The Civics strengths are it compact, aerodynamic package coupled with great handling, but this hybrid cannot deliver quite at the rate of other fuel efficient cars, notably the anemic Prius.

Smart Fortwo-

The Smarts strength is in it's diminutive size and best fuel economy comparison. The Fortwo is also oddly named and odd looking. A more pressing drawback is you may not live through an accident in this little sawed off number, as merging onto a freeway may kill you. Fortwo has the worst acceleration of any vehicle in the country.

Toyota Camry Hybrid-

This hybrid is an overall hit with moving people around, as it delivers a comfy ride with excellent control. We could not find anything wrong with this car, except possibly it's complete lack of excitement and middle of the road fuel economy comparison in it's class, along with it's higher price.

This diesel is seamless joy on fly on the freeway, while delivering less than the best fuel efficient cars are supposed to in the alternative fuels category. None the less, we find this to be one of the best fuel efficient car in a diesel package.

Yaris by Toyota

One of the most fuel efficient vehicles is the compact Yaris, and it is also one of the least expensive. This car is one of the gas savers that has seen popularity in European markets where gas has always been unaffordable, to say the least. Americans are getting a taste of the poison now. While devoid of luxury, the Yaris has a quirky appeal.
