We tend to see them in the grocery store where they are often priced high in the off season.
So just remember to make this recipe for salsa when the mangoes are begging to be picked, and then practice the art of canning salsa.

There are more than a few varieties of fresh salsa recipes that use fruit, including this great Peach Salsa Recipe.
To start you will just need mangoes, jalapenos, red onion, cucumber, lime and the herb cilantro, which is a salsa staple.
Some cooks like to add avocado as well. Avocado tempers hot spices so if you are overzealous with the peppers you can balance out the flavors with some diced ripe avocado.
You can serve this easy salsa recipe with many foods. Do try it on grilled fish, quesadillas and almost any kind of Mexican dish. Try it on seared tuna or grilled shrimp. Or you can serve it as a memorable appetizer with chips and Cuban Mojitos. Now what host would have thought of that? Delicious.
