Making pasta is a great way to go when you learning how to make noodles in a big way. So how to make pasta? It's easy.

For every pound of pasta you will need 2 cups flour, 3 large eggs and 1/2 teaspoon salt. All you do is put the flour in a mound on your work surface, make a well in the center, add in the eggs and salt.

Mix the egg into the flour a little at a time, then simply knead into a ball. The dough may be too sticky or too dry, so add flour or more egg until you can knead it easily, just like you would when you learned how to make dough for bread.

When you are learning how to make noodles, remember it is just like when you learned how to bake bread. Knead, push, turn and repeat, for about 6 minutes.

A bench knife is used to make pasta. It is a flat square blade with a handle that does not extend like a regular knife. Use this knife to separate the dough into three equal balls. We are going to let the dough rest for 15 minutes at this point.

When learning how to make noodles, you could do it by hand but you will be done faster and easier with a pasta machine on your side. A pasta machine is used to both roll and cut the dough into long strands.

Roll the dough out so it is 1/2" thick and no wider than the pasta machine's widest setting. Feed the dough in the roller and hold it with your other hand as it comes out the other end.how to make noodles

You are going to continue feeding the dough, starting with setting 1, then making the slot smaller in subsequent increments. Don't skip a number or you will have a pasta jam! Continue passing the dough into the machine until very thin, about 1/16th of an inch.

The pasta machine has a roller and a cutting blade side. Cut the dough in half and work with a smaller width for ease. Feed it into the blades and collect it with your other hand as it comes out. how to make noodles

Have a plan how you are going to dry your new pasta. A wooden drying rack works the best. Just hang the noodles, not touching each other. That's it! You can use it right away or keep it dried for later use.

One pound of fresh pasta from the store is $3.29 in my area! How about in yours? You just made two pounds for less than $1.00.Congratulations as you have just added another gem in your arsenal of tricks on how to save on food!how to make noodles
