A CFL is a great Energy Efficient Lightbulb

This is accomplished by replacing each light with CFL bulbs. One of the benefits of living in the modern world is light. We can have light wherever and whenever we want it. And we’re not talking candlelight reading in the dark; we can light our houses brighter than daylight if we want to. Our budget gets in trouble, however, when we use Too Much Electricity . Compact fluorescent light bulbs can make a huge difference when trying to save electricity because they use less wattage and last up to seven times over a traditional incandescent bulb. However, there are other bulbs that may be better suited to certain applications. For instance, installing LED lights in some areas may mean not having to turn on a larger light. This is particularly true of areas where you only need very specific lighting, or not much light at all, such as a bathroom at night. Choosing the right energy efficient lightbulb for your purposes means getting the most savings and the most satisfaction. Certainly, you can simply turn off your lights when you’re not using them, which will definitely cut down on costs, but what about all those times you turn on your hall lights to walk from one room to the next? Even if you only turn your lights on when you’re in the room, you’re still using them more frequently than you need to. Rather than resorting to walking around in the dark, a great way to work around this tendency is to carry a lantern of some sort. One of the best kinds is a sun jar, which uses solar energy gathered during the day to light a small LED at night. This alone can be enough light to avoid turning on the lights at all. Other small lights like this will work just as well. Courtesy of Paul Keller Cheap Living Being smart about light use can make a huge impact on the look of your home. This is one area that people tend to complain about when they take steps to live more frugally. Cheap living can be very aesthetically displeasing because energy efficient lights are often perceived as cold. It isn’t until you replace the lighting in your home that you realize what a big difference in visual temperature this can make. This is very unfortunate, because cheap living can end up making your home look like an office if you’re not careful. This is why having the possibility of adapting these technologies to different human moods through dimmers is so important.

While there are still problems with flickering, light color, and disposal, dimmable compact fluorescent light bulbs can be just as pleasant in a home as incandescent bulbs. These new compact fluorescent light bulbs, unlike their predecessors that used magnets, have electronic ballasts that allow them to work in dimmable circuits. Their dimming function allows the exact level of light to be modified, and because they are fluorescent, they can get quite bright. You usually must wait until the light bulb is fully lit to set the dimmers appropriately, but this is a minor inconvenience for the amount of savings involved. Nowadays, fluorescent lights can be made in such a way that they are an exact replacement for incandescent bulbs, and they are one of the best ways to save on energy bills.
