The Araucana chicken has been crossed with other breeds to produce the Ameraucana chicken which produces lovely multicolored eggs, including the favorite blue chicken eggs. Ameraucana chickens are frequently confused with Araucana chickens. Baby chicken hatcheries may call either "Easter egg chickens", or "Easter Eggers". Both lay blue, brown and green tinted eggs.
