Baby and Barn Raising

by Carley M.
(Montana, USA)

Barn Raising

Barn Raising

When my daughter was an infant I up and decided to build a big red gambrel style barn on our country property. The good ole guy I hired was old school and could have built a ski lodge with his skills.

I knew I was a Hillbilly Housewife that year as everyday, about the same time as I had a demanding nursing baby hanging off me, he would come to my backdoor with a "bill" and a "receipt" for that weeks work. These were always written with carpenter pencil on a sawed off 2x4. Save those receipts!
